{"id":16795,"date":"2018-07-19T17:33:00","date_gmt":"2018-07-19T16:33:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/arteconstructo.com\/technical-sheets\/coridecor\/corisilk\/"},"modified":"2018-07-20T12:56:08","modified_gmt":"2018-07-20T11:56:08","slug":"corisilk","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/arteconstructo.com\/en\/corisilk\/","title":{"rendered":"CORISILK"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><b>CORISILK<\/b><span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>MINERAL SILICATE PAINT<\/b><\/p>\n<p><b>Description<\/b><\/p>\n<p>Corisilk is ready-mixed mineral silicate paint for internal and external use, which petrifies with the substrate due to a chemical reaction.<\/p>\n<p><b>Application area<\/b><\/p>\n<p>Thanks to its intrinsic qualities, Corisilk is utmost resistant to atmospheric pollution and can as such be applied in the most severe climatic circumstances.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>Corisilk can be applied on all types of mineral substrates like bricks, natural stones, renders and plasters, etc.<\/p>\n<p>Its mineral appearance and excellent light fastness, due to the use of natural pigments, make of Corisilk a very suitable paint for the restoration of historical sites and monuments, as well as for the application in contemporary architecture.<\/p>\n<p>Furthermore, due to its typical mineral properties, Corisilk is utmost preferable for the use in a bio-ecological context and anywhere where the presence of bacteria is a reason for concern (food storage houses, hospitals, schools, etc.).<\/p>\n<p><b>Preparation of the support<\/b><\/p>\n<p>The substrate needs to be stable before applying Corisilk. Corisilk can be applied onto renders, plasters, brickwork, natural stone and insulating block masonry.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>Remove pulverizing finishes or clean them with an adapted product, if still in a good condition.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>Stone repairs, repointing and repairs to damaged brickwork and\/or loose renders are preferable done by means of Unilit natural hydraulic lime mortars.<\/p>\n<p>Old synthetic paint layers are removed preferably, certainly in external conditions.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>If maintained, the &#8211; still well preserved &#8211; paint layers are cleaned with a solution of ammoniac (2 to 5%) and water and followed by the application of an adhesion layer of Corifondo. <span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Application<\/b><\/p>\n<p>In order to prepare an unstable substrate, a layer of Fondosilk is applied first of all.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>In the case of a porous and absorbent surface a layer of Fondosilk Consolidant is applied.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>Fondosilk Consolidant is applied as well when large differences do occur in absorption.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>On synthetic paint layers an adhesion layer of Corifondo is applied in internal conditions.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>Never apply Corifondo in external conditions onto monolithical walls.<\/p>\n<p>If the substrate is dry and work is done in hot conditions, it is recommended to humidify the substrate before applying the first layer of Corisilk.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Before applying the first layer of Corisilk, the silicate paint is diluted first with 20% of Fondosilk.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>The prepared mix is subsequently diluted with 20 to 30% of water, in function of the absorption rate of the substrate and the climatic conditions, and applied with a brush, paint roller or paint-spraying (airless, diluted with 30 to 40 % of water, nozzle 0,79mm) equipment.<\/p>\n<p>The second layer of Corisilk is subsequently diluted only with 25 to 30% of water, in function of the absorption rate of the substrate and the climatic conditions.<\/p>\n<p>The product is applied with a brush, paint roller or paint-spraying (airless) equipment.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>The temperature should be between +5\u00b0C and +35\u00b0C.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>Do not apply Corisilk during foggy and windy weather or on surfaces exposed to direct sunshine.<\/p>\n<p><b>Consumption<\/b><\/p>\n<p>Indicative consumption : 0,190 l\/m\u00b2 in two layers<\/p>\n<p>The average coverage per 1 litre of silicate paint amounts 6 to 8 m\u00b2 in two layers.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/arteconstructo.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/03\/Tech-Sheet-CORISILK.pdf\">Download the PDF version<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>CORISILK\u00a0 MINERAL SILICATE PAINT Description Corisilk is ready-mixed mineral silicate paint for internal and external use, which petrifies with the substrate due to a chemical reaction.
