Product Description<\/b><\/p>\n
Keim Contact-plus is a highly filled, silicate-based priming coat ideal for renovation work (silicate emulsion paint according to DIN 18363, 2.4.1) containing glass fibers and high-grade fillers in balanced grain sizes and shapes. \u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n Keim Contact-plus is used as a bonding bridge between sound, existing organically bound coatings and subsequent coats of KEIM silicate emulsion paints\u00a0 <\/span>if those old organically bound coatings cannot be stripped off due to e.g. environmental or other reasons. Old coatings not suitable for coating with Keim Contact-plus are plasto-elastic coatings or coatings susceptible to saponification (e.g. certain oil paints).\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n On mineral substrates or organically bound old coatings hairline cracks up to 0.5 mm in width are filled and differences in substrate texture are equalized.<\/p>\n Application Instructions<\/b><\/p>\n Substrate preparation :<\/p>\n The substrate must be sound, dry, clean and free of dust and grease. Any loose areas of existing organically bound coatings and dirt should be removed either mechanically or by water jetting.<\/p>\n Application :<\/p>\n On non-absorbent substrates, apply Keim Contact-plus evenly by brush, always undiluted, using criss-cross strokes.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n Keim Contact-plus can also be applied by airless spraying (nozzle size 0.94 mm\/ 0.037 in.). \u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n Subsequent coats :\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n Keim Contact-plus must always be overcoated with one or two subsequent coats of paint, for example with Keim Granital, Keim Soldalit or Keim Concretal-W. \u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n With light color shades (price group I), a single, undiluted, opaque finishing coat is generally sufficient. \u00b7<\/p>\n Darker color shades (price group II) require two subsequent coats, e.g.: \u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n Intermediate coat:\u00a0 <\/span>Keim Granital diluted\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n (max. 2 l \/ 0.5 gal of Keim Spezial-Fixativ per 10 kg)<\/p>\n Finishing coat:\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 <\/span>Keim Granital undiluted. \u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n Application conditions :<\/p>\n Ambient and substrate temperature > + 5\u00b0C (41\u00b0F). Do not apply in direct sunlight or onto sun-heated substrates. Protect coated surfaces from direct sunlight, wind and rain during and after application. \u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n Drying times :<\/p>\n A drying time of at least 12 hours must be left between coats\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n Consumption<\/b>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n On a smooth, non-absorbent substrate for a filler coat :\u00a0 <\/span><\/p>\n approx. 0.4 kg of Keim Contact-plus. \u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n On a smooth, absorbent substrate : \u00a0 <\/span><\/p>\n approx. 0.5 kg of Keim Contact-plus.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n Cleaning of tools \u00a0<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n Clean with plenty of water immediately after use. \u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n Packaging\u00a0<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n 5 kg and 25 kg containers<\/p>\n
